Been diggin' a bunch Os Mutantes of late (thanks to Abbey) as well as the early fuzzed out records of Caetano Veloso and Gal Costa and Gilberto Gil. I'm pretty sure that the Os Mutantes members play on ALL of these records. I can't get enough of those psych guitar sounds placed so strangely in the mixes.

I also picked up Basil Kirchin's Quantum that I wrote about yesterday (similarly surprised at its Kim's 11.99 pricetag). When I put it on at first Abbey asked if it was Bjork. Wild organ washes with strange foreign female singing. But then slowed down insects and birds and the howling of Evan Parker took over. Ummm, wow.

A bit bummed that I missed the Ween album there. I think I may try to see them on friday night if I know what is good for me.
